Started this blog a little too late...

I started this blog to document my 18 1/2 months of sub-fertility. It's ironic because I'm pregnant now. Got a BFP yesterday on CD 33. It doesn't seem real. I've seen so many negatives over and over again, and now it's positive. I'm so happy and grateful, but I feel like I'm in a dream and I'll wake up and none of it really happened.

I think I'm still going to document the rest of my sub-fertility experience. I don't ever want to forget the amount of pain and suffering I went through, and I don't want to take this pregnancy for granted. At least now I know that I'm capable of getting pregnant, even if the Lord decides to call my baby to Heaven. And I'm a mother. Wow. It's so surreal.

We're only telling family and a few close friends. Not putting it on facebook until I'm out of the first trimester. But I had to post it here.

Thank you, Jesus, for the gift of life in my womb.

  1. wwwhhhaaa...for real?? I was going to make a joke in my last comment "I hope you have the shortest sub-fertility blog ever!" and gee, would ya look at that. So CONGRATS. You're right, you're a mom forever, no matter what happens :)

So I must ask my usual question...what were you taking again? ha!

  2. Haha! Thanks Alison :)

I'll be posting about this later, but here's what I took:
100mg Clomiphene (CD 3-7)-to induce ovulation
1500mg Metformin (every day)-an insulin sensitizer because I was diagnosed with PCOS
100mg Prometrium (CD 20+)- progesterone supplement because my levels were low on Day 21 for several cycles in a row, showing that I wasn't ovulating

  4. Welcome to the blog world! I joined a little late as well, not making my blog public until after I had a little one. But the sub fertility experience is still very much a part of who I am as a person, including as a mother and I blog a bit of both. I hope you'll stop by sometime. Congratulations on this big miracle!
